Wonderhop modes: Sky, Abyss, Past, and Future
Last verified: 2026-10-30
The four directions are one daily set, not four separate games. A shared result card from 14 Oct 2026 prints them as cloud, wave, hourglass, and crystal, in that order, with scores 250, 340, 380, and 200.
Sky
Sky asks for the answer most people give. The page tells you to answer for the crowd, pick the plain name, and think past your own country. Perfect is the top of the board. An answer missing from the list gets an estimated share that stays at or under the leader. A third-party guide says the points track that share. The official page shows the share and does not print a formula, so I will not lock one in.
Abyss
Abyss asks for a real answer that is rare. The extra ten seconds are explained on the page: a correct and rare answer takes longer. Go one step more specific, stay inside the category, and use the whole 40 seconds. The score is the share of players who gave a more common answer than yours. Perfect is the rarest answer, or one rarer than 97 percent of players. That 97 percent line is only on the official how-to-play page.
A too-clever answer that is off-category is rejected, not rewarded. If you are the first person to type a rare true answer, the share is estimated and then follows later players. That is why an early rare guess can look worse than a later one.
Past
Past wants the oldest answer. You type a name. A real answer that is too new is scored Weak, not rejected. The developer, on 13 Oct 2026, dated examples by first appearance: Milliways as 1978 from the radio series, the Berlin city palace as 1443 from the start of construction, Labubu as 2015 from its debut. Read which date the question is actually using.
Future
Future wants the newest answer, still without a typed year. A real answer that is too old is Weak. Think of a recent release, model, or version. One player asked about a most-recent racing champion and believed the board was using a birth year rather than a title year. The developer did not answer that comment, so I treat the warning as a player report: read what the question dates.

Questions people ask
What is a rarest-answer game?
In Wonderhop that is Abyss: a true answer almost nobody else gives. You have 40 seconds. The official page compares it with Pointless.
Do I type the year in Past or Future?
No. The oldest-or-newest page says you type the name and the game already knows the date.
Do all languages share one percentage?
The Sky page says players in all nine listed languages count in the same percentages.
